DigitalOcean is a well-known cloud hosting provider established in New York.
DigitalOcean company overview
DigitalOcean is a young leader in cloud hosting industries. I was their customer when they was only a VPS provider. Now, they grown and now provide KaaS (Kubernetes as a Service), DaaS (Database as a Service), object storage and much more.
I specially love to know that my hosting provider has signifiant evolution. In my opinion, it helps them to keep above water. Web hosting company without evolution might drown.

DigitalOcean VPS overview
VPS at DigitalOcean is called a droplet. Yes, they are creative. You can create droplets in 55 seconds and destroy it at any time. So, they have both hourly and monthly billing cycle.
Total billed usage is paid at the end of the month, just like any other cloud provider.
They have general purpose, CPU optimized and memory optimized VPS. Unfortunately, they don’t provide any IOPS intensive VPS plans, that might be required for some use case.
Conclusion
DigitalOcean is a very good VPS hosting provider for general purpose. I will recommand them for any basic project which should hosted in USA.
