Hostinger Premium Shared Hosting

Hostinger Premium Shared Hosting

Hostinger Premium Hosting

  • Easy to use control panel
  • Cheap

  • Too low resources limits

I decided to stress test the Hostinger hosting. Read full story.

Company overview

Hostinger is previously well-known free hosting provider. After multiple years of free services, they decided to stop this strategy and sell only paid hosting. However, their free hosting has been moved under brand. Today, they are leader, have very good brand identity online are regularly run ads campaigns on my Facebook feed.

They nowadays run their own ASN (AS47583), have their own IP spaces, but not sure if they have their own datacenter.

Hostinger Premium hosting package

The Premium hosting package is running on in-house built control panel hPanel. The control panel looks modern and powerful. Under this control panel, they run CloudLinux operating system, and seems to use LiteSpeed as web server, as drop-in Apache replacement.

The hardware comes with 2x Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4114 CPU and 256GB memory. Remembers that this CPU have 20 threads each. No virtualization seems to be used. Multiples drives, but no RAID seen (hope this is a hardware RAID).

The downside of in-house built control panel is that we can’t see how much quota are allocated inside our LVE.

Benchmark results

Nothing really strange here. I’ve already expected that the LiteSpeed caching will not have much effect if the LsCache plugin is not installed in the website.

But the very strange thing is I was limited during Prestashop installation. I never got success installing Prestashop on the hosting package, I had to install it elsewhere then import files and databases to Hostinger. I got “MySQL has gone away” on 5 tries during Prestashop installation. Maybe nobody use Prestashop in their hosting?
